Getting Started

The Deals Curation Console is the supply curation module of The MediaGrid platform. This module provides platform Curators with tools to manage active deals from their supply library, re-package this inventory in a number of different ways, and trade those deals through any connected buying platform (DSP). The Deals Curation Console aims to help curators in the following way:

  • Improve operational efficiencies when managing deals across various platforms and buyers

  • Provide valuable insights into available supply

  • Improved competitiveness and value creation through unique supply curation capabilities

  • Holistic visibility into spend and performance across partners

The Deals Curation Console has four primary work areas:

  • Supply Deals These are deals a Curator negotiates with Publishers or SSPs and routes into Commerce Grid. Also Data Curators can create virtual Supply Deals that are packed by The MediaGrid Data from open rtb traffic according to targeting settings (segments, geo, etc.) provided by Data Curators. Virtual Supply Deals are not negotiated with Publisher or SSP.

  • Packages Supply Deals can be combined into new deals packages based on specific Curator goals or business requirements.

  • Demand Deals Packages can’t be bought directly by DSPs, because there are typically more than one demand seats behind a single DSP configured in The MediaGrid (i.e. an agency may have a unique seat with a DSP, each seat representing a different client). The Deals Console must know the appropriate seat for each package. Demand Deals enables this by creating unique Deal IDs for each package per DSP seat. Demand Deals are then executed in DSPs by traders in the conventional manner.

  • Seats Client- or brand-specific trading accounts within a DSP.

Note

Commerce Grid needs to appear in a publisher’s ads.txt file for their inventory to be available for curation. You can email your Solutions Consultant or help@themediagrid.com to validate whether or not your supply partners have already configured this correctly. If they do not, we can provide you with the unique entries that they will need to add to their ads.txt files before live trading is possible.

Routing

For a supply deal to become available in Commerce Grid, it must be first routed into the platform. For this to happen, the curator needs to instruct the SSP from whom the deal is being procured to set up their bid requests as follows.

  • Send the Bid Request to BidSwitch, specifying IPONWEB Labs as the recipient.

  • This means ensuring the request contains the wseat value of 379, along with the relevant deal information

IPONWEB Labs is the buy-side module of Commerce Grid on BidSwitch. If the deal is created with a publisher directly connected to Commerce Grid via header-bidding, this step isn’t necessary and all routing will happen automatically.
